These lovely, friendly birds are naturally curious and enjoy being around people. However, they should not be kept with delicate bantams. Ameraucanas are hearty foragers and thrive when free-roaming. They come in a variety of colors and lay beautiful blue or green-tinted eggs. Some also have charming cheek tufts.
This breed generally gets along well with most other breeds. However, they may be bullied if kept in larger numbers or with more delicate breeds. They can also thrive in a mixed flock alongside larger hybrids or purebred chickens.
This breed is naturally inquisitive and friendly, though they may appear a bit aloof since they don’t enjoy being handled too much. They are independent and prefer to go about their own activities.

The Rumples comes from the Araucanian people of Northern Chile. The Rumples is characterized by its lack of a tail or parson's nose and is most well-known for its unique facial feathering (tufts). These hens are good layers, producing up to 180 medium-sized spearmint blue eggs annually, and have an average lifespan of around 8 years.
